Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying here or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should 2025 nsfas application apply timeously and not read more to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
